papa's new bag

A few hours ago, I landed in Los Angeles, turned on my phone, and confirmed what you already know. Sony Pictures Television is replacing me as showrunner on Community, with two seasoned fellows that I’m sure are quite nice - actually, I have it on good authority they’re quite nice, because…

Arrested Development is the only reason I’m going to keep my Netflix trial and turn it into a paid subscription.  My favorite TV show Battlestar Galactica, I quit watching, but I picked it up again and finished, five years later. Quality never dies, and with Internet based subscription services, there is no reason to kill a brilliant show to appeal to the mass market. Your niche market will pay you dividends for decades. Watering it down only dilutes long term viewership. I haven’t watched Community this season, because I was planning on buying it, freeing me of the Network schedule. I thought buying the DVDs from season one and two would help let the studio know this show had loyal people willing to pay to see it. It’s very sad, Sony. It’s not cool. Not cool.

Waiting for patch 1.4, catching up on Community

I had put off watching the latest episodes to get ahold of a good bud, and then quit smoking. Or something. What comes first, the patch or new episodes … holding breath /dying.
